Witch's Quarantine

3D Modeling - Maya
My first time learning Maya was during the pandemic, and this was my first completed artwork with the 3D Modeling Program! This piece reflects the experience of a cozy space of things one cherishes within a confined space. A Witch's Quarantine shows the warm and messiness of inside from the cool rigidness of the cityscape outside the window. This digital image goes along with another piece called, Home To Someone, both were created together and describe an imagined individual's experience in quarantine.

“I wanted to create something Halloween inspired for the season, but we were also going through quarantine at the moment. I imagined what someone who practices this sort of stuff space might look like, how there might be a little mess of things but ultimately it's cozy and their own intimate space. I played with colour here to allow the warm tones to exist inside and cool outside world to exist blurred beyond the window. This was my first time using Maya and while it was super challenging to learn it all online through a busy school semester, I'm glad I did it, it was genuinely so rewarding. Maya is a great program and by overcoming the challenges along the way, I'm now able to do so much, more than I would've ever imagined!”
