THE BESTEST GAME EVER!

Two convenient store coworkers have taken on the task of creating the "bestest" video game, but need to decide what this game should be about.

“THE BESTEST GAME EVER! is a single-channel, mixed media animation about the decision making process of the creative mind flushed with ambition, through a callow perspective. The narrative focuses on two teenage coworkers at a gas station convenience store and their elaborate brainstorming session to make a one-of-a-kind video game. The title, THE BESTEST GAME EVER!, refers to the satire within the protagonists’ motives while conceptualizing a video game as well as referencing the eccentric dialogue persistent from one of the main protagonists. The film is set to emulate various tropes of notable video games to enhance the concept of traditional storytelling in animation. This includes visuals and animation techniques from titles such as DOOM (1993) and Pokémon games from the early 2000’s. The film also includes an original soundtrack of 5 full-length songs composed by OctoNote, which have been used for selected scenes to further enhance the film’s game-forward story. THE BESTEST GAME EVER! expresses the challenges that could arise from conceptualizing the potential of ambitious projects as a mind-flowing creator, presented in a comical direction.”
