Protective gear for our modern warriors.
“Quinn Hopkins, also known as Noodin Studio, has created "Land Back Wiikwaan" as a series of helmet designs that pay tribute to the resilience and determination of Indigenous peoples in their fight for land rights and respect. Each helmet in the collection, inspired by dirt bike riding and graffiti art, represents a different Indigenous activist front, serving as a modern interpretation of the traditional warbonnet. By merging contemporary design elements with historical symbolism, Hopkins aims to emphasize the importance of recognizing and honoring Indigenous sovereignty in the present day. Drawing on influences from class materials and personal research, the work is situated within the discourse of decolonization and Indigenous rights, making a powerful statement on the ongoing struggle for justice and respect for Indigenous territories.”
