Like a tortoise's shell, the bicycle helmet acts as a cyclist’s “shell” to protect their heads. This illustration describes this concept by replacing the tortoise's shell with a bicycle helmet. To demonstrate carelessness, the tortoise is depicted rolling onto its back (a position of distress) with the buckle of its helmet being seen unclasped.

“The commentary here is; despite our intelligence, there are times when our inner defense mechanisms fail us due to reckless behavior. For example, not wearing a bicycle helmet despite knowing the consequences. ”
