A 3D modelled environment that envisions Toronto 50 years into the future where sea levels have risen drastically.
“Flooded Toronto is a 3D environment that captures a speculative future in the year 2074. The built scene is set at the corner of Church St. and Wellington St. E. where Toronto’s Flatiron Building is situated. Taking this city’s iconic landmark, a version of the future is presented where global rising sea levels have half-submerged the Flatiron building and its surrounding intersection. The building is also obscured by heavy rain and fog brought about by this future’s more extreme weather patterns. No longer accessible by foot, the people of Toronto in 2074 must now travel around the city by boats—these boats can dock at platforms such as the scaffolding to the side of the Flatiron. This work was created in collaboration with Rickardo Ennis. My roles were in 3D modeling and texturing.”
