“Modesty shorts are a garment worn underneath dresses and skirts to allow young girls full mobility (and modesty) while playing. I grew up wearing modesty shorts under a kilt as part of my school uniform and always hated it - I just wanted autonomy over how I dressed. Now that I am older, I feel incredibly nostalgic toward the idea of modesty shorts and uniforms in general. Although I used to see them as restrictive, the modesty shorts are now a reminder of my childhood - being a young school girl prancing and playing without a care in the world.”
