The Seasoning of Life

Hello~ here's my thesis film. The Seasoning of Life is a 3-minute 3D animation exploring the struggle between surviving and truly living. It follows Hazel, an overworked office worker who collapses from burnout and enters a magical kitchen where floating utensils and ingredient-mountains awaken her forgotten culinary dreams. Inspired by my own battles with monotony and online stories of people daring to reinvent themselves, the film uses color tone contrast (cold corporate blues vs. warm kitchen golds) and immersive cooking sounds to visualize how small acts of courage can “season” bland routines into meaningful lives. Stylized 3D characters navigate semi-realistic environments to explore the core tension between merely existing and truly living. When soul-crushing work drains our joy, embracing what truly matters to us reignites our spark.
