The Reward Project

Emily Guitar is a lens-based artist from Toronto who is exploring our understanding of addiction, sex work, and mental health through research and photo-based work.

““The Reward Project” is a collection of images taken during five years of Emily’s life, during which she experienced opioid addiction and rehabilitation efforts. Through this Emily photographed her life, both candid and posed moments that speak to this time of transition and recovery, these images making up “The Reward Project”Through the images, Guitar hopes to share a candid retelling of her addiction while attempting to make connections with others to prompt further discussions surrounding the opioid epidemic. ”
