Sweetest Dreams, Love (2)

This is the second piece out of the three piece series "Sweetest Dreams, Love", and allows for a second perspective of my childhood bedroom. Pictured is the corner of the bed, a wardrobe, and a rocking chair. In the reflection of the window you can see the flash camera as well as it's highlights on my Mother's belt.

“The presence of the photograph is very evident in this work, which creates the feeling of a figure without one's appearance. The image was taken by my Mother, and her presence is clear in the window's reflection. The height that the picture was taken makes the items in it appear small, and allows the viewer to enter the work. This piece represents the role of parenthood in a child's life, and the ways in which they document, observe, and interact with our childhood. ”
