Seasons is the result of a series of experimentation combining organic textures with digital compositing. The goal for this animation was to capture the feeling of weather and one's surroundings as it changes from winter to spring. Using textures produced as a result of the weather, such as snow, puddles, pinecones and bare trees, I use digital manipulation, experimenting with blending modes, to emphasize the negative spaces between their natural forms to produce tactile compositions highlighting their natural structures. The color palette starts off cool toned and almost monochrome, the colors slowly building with the music growing warmer and more whimsical as the “spring” creeps in. The audio track, titled “spawn” by artist tomcbumpz, evokes a sense of wonder with its soft electronic notes, which also provided a helpful structure to time the movement of my imagery to.
