Self-representation has long been a tool for self-exploration, resistance, and storytelling. While women were often depicted through external, male-dominated lenses, this book highlights female artists who used self-portraiture as a way to reclaim the gaze, turning the act of depicting themselves into something personal, radical, and transformative.
