Set within a synthetic ocean, Bather considers the canonical subject of the figure in water. By depicting the digital body in an orchestrated scene of water, I connect the history of bathers and the body in art to concepts of human digital existence. The water disrupts, alters, and destroys the digital through its reactivity with technology thus, nodding to the distortion that occurs while simultaneously existing across multiple platforms.
