This series of photos is inspired by the film noir style and genre of popular cinematic films in the 1940s and 1950s. Many noir films often exude feelings of pessimism, fatalism, and menace, which often feature malevolent or despicable characters in ominous settings and atmospheres, with many of their features often covered by shadows and a lack of light. This story follows a girl and explores the progression of her two-faced personality. The shadows conceal her and reflect her confident and strong personality, while the light exposes who she truly is underneath, as a more vulnerable individual. The prints are categorized from left to right, demonstrating the transition from shadow to light as a symbolization of it taking place, creating a timeline of events.
