Right of Way: Enlivening the Hydro Corridor

Environmental Design
2025
This thesis proposes a framework to enliven the Finch Hydro Corridor by repurposing the space to increase biodiversity and environmental restoration to encourage community engagement and connectivity. The space is divided into numerous narrow ribbons acting as grids, adaptable to be repurposed to the needs of the local communities along the corridor. By planting native species, implementing diverse meadow habitats and changing the topography, the approach creates different outdoor spaces and experiences that are not only multifunctional but address the social and ecological needs of present and future communities.
