HACK MEDIA

This project consists of an informational foldout zine, and an easily producible poster.

“HACK MEDIA is an informational zine on physical media. It covers VHS, DVDs, vinyl records, cassette tapes, and CDs, and explores their history, culture, and uses. In doing so, it uncovers the importance of physical media as a preservation of culture and uncovers the problematic attitude of abandoning their use for the digital age. With the zine and the poster, this project attempts to encourage people to hack (meaning both using and taking advantage of) physical media. ”
