Cyanotype of Banana Leaves
Various Dimensions
This work explores memory and the diaspora of the Laotian community in Canada from the perspective of my own family. These archival images printed on banana leaves serve as a representation to the ways in which my parents and others within the community adapted to this change in culture and lifestyle when they immigrated to Canada. Finding a space to fit into the Canadian culture as well as carving out a space where our heritage, cultures and traditions can thrive.
