"Beckoning" is a large, conceptually-laden landscape painting that has been created via the juxtaposition of geometric forms with organic shapes. Reflections of water explore the abundant potentiality as metaphors for temporality, identity and ancestral history. The sublime images of plants' root systems symbolically transport the artist's memories and stories of ancestors.

“"Beckoning" is a conceptually-laden landscape I had such joy creating via the juxtaposition of geometric forms with organic shapes. Reflections of water explore the abundant potentiality as metaphors for temporality, identity and ancestral history. The sublime images of plants' root systems symbolically transport my memories and ancestors' stories, validating a third space of two "colliding cultures" that have formed my core consciousness. Additionally, bright, atypical paint colours embed my Indo-Guyanese and Canadian heritages.”
