Steel Fruit

My project titled “Steel Fruit” is a wall installation consisting of painted recycled fabrics, thread, and tuff back. Pieces of tuff back and fabric are painted on, and sections to fabric are sewn loosely together, arranged in an expansive manner. It reacts to its environment, and adds an organic aura to its site.

“Steel Fruit are sweet things. This work explores construction and architecture and the ways it intersects with the organic, the painterly. Steel Fruit are hard to eat but so pretty. They represent a duality and a balance between the machine and the flesh.”
