This was a self-directed project where students were given free rein to design and install their own media-based installation. With assistance from the professor as needed, students spent 3-4 weeks proposing, designing, and installing their own installation. My installation, titled Digital Eyes, was a somewhat site-specific project that was designed to visualize a physical relationship between human interaction and technology. As technology has evolved and become more integrated into our everyday lives, I wanted to create an installation that highlighted the reliance humans have on technology, and the life technology seems to have developed. “Digital Eyes is heavily inspired by the relationship humans have cultivated with technology over time, especially with the creation and development of artificial intelligence. This project takes this apparent co-dependent relationship between humans and the technology we have created, and re-envisions it through the use of motion sensors and human interaction.”
