Tactility in Design

Publication
2024
This was a research-based project I worked on in my third year at OCAD, exploring how tactility can function within graphic design. I've always been interested in the relationship between text and textiles and how materiality, texture, and physical interaction could shape the way we experience design. For the final publication, I experimented with paper weaving as a new way to introduce tactility, pushing the boundaries of traditional print and questioning how touch-focused design can change the way we communicate visually.

“This project is an exploration of touch in a medium that’s often flat. I was interested in how texture and material can shift the way we engage with graphic design, how the feeling of a surface can slow us down, make us look closer, or connect more deeply. ”
