Activating gallery and community spaces, 'vigor in a zipper' is a dance-media performance, exploring paralinguistic somatics. Through movement and physicality, Liaw will create an interwoven dialogue with the imagery and artworks, externalizing the fluid intimacies that connect each piece in the exhibition.

“The nexus of the transcultural body unravels more than what can be depicted or represented as a body. The body holds; imprints and encodes as the topographical weight of its experiences (including the in-betweenness of epigenetics of its ancestors and futurities); parts of the orchids. In response or as a mirroring, my hands gently detassel the petals, the teeth slowly decipher and I attempt a form of returning. The body fails, it collapses; quietly surrendering in the dark.”
