Hidden Scars
Painting
The initial taste of what's to be a series of unpleasant moments!
“Hidden Scars serves as a poignant reflection of my earliest memory—the onset of war. It stands as a resilient emblem, shaping the trajectory for the rest of my art pieces. Through its evocative imagery, it captures not only the struggles and despair but also the enduring strength and resilience of my family, my home, and my community. Each piece undergoes a meticulous layering of mediums, symbolizing the intricate layers of my memories and war's impact on my life. Charcoal depicts the stark destruction of the land, while watercolor and acrylics immerse in the depths of memories. Newspaper transfers challenge the Western narrative of shaping conflict and misinformation in the East. While oil paint symbolizes the relentless fuel feeding an already burning fire, the cause of it all. Together, they weave a narrative of trauma, resiliency, and eventual healing—a testament to the enduring legacy of war for generations to come.”
