Sweetest Dreams, Love (3)

This piece is the third in the series "Sweetest Dreams, Love" and provides, alongside the other two paintings, a full panoramic view of the room. This image contains the same rocking chair as the previous in the series, as well as the vanity dresser that I used for the majority of my youth. On it is shown a stuffed cat toy as well as boxes and toys. In the window is the reflection of the vanity, created by the use of flash camera in the original photograph.

“This work represents girlhood as I experienced it. The vanity that watched me grow up, the same vanity that taught me how to do my makeup or cry over my appearance. The stuffed cat is one that many girls I knew also had, and that connected my childhood to the childhood of others. On the table lie artifacts of my child, temporary objects that have now been immortalized through my work. ”
