“I opened this fortune cookie at a difficult time in my life. They are mass-produced, but I wished desperately that the message was meant for me. Enlarging and embroidering it is a way of personalizing the sentiment. The time it took may have been long and slow, but as the thread filled the fabric, I felt each letter was a step away from the past and towards hope and healing.”
