I entered the Clear Directions treatment program as a lost teenager with substance abuse issues. This program not only set me back on my educational track, but also a mental health one. Although things were rocky for a while after I left, I drew from the unconditional love and support that the people in this program provided to regain strength, courage and drive. Two extremely notable figures would be Chris Keys and Martine Landry: my social worker and teacher, it feels like such a reduction to call them solely from their professions because they were so much more than that, they nurtured and truly cared for people who had no idea how to do that for themselves, they were selfless, honest and reliable, and really showed me that I am worth the time.
