Wood, Copper, Steel
Triptych: A picture or carving in three panels side by side.Choosing a recognizable event from history and creating a three-dimensional triptych that tells its story. The Morse Code Triptypch retells the invention of the Morse Code and how it became a major method of communication. This unique triptych is contained within a wooden briefcase that features an extendable panel, generating three separate divisions. The top panel retells the history of the Morse Code and how it was invented. The middle panel explains how it works and how it can be read or heard. The third and final panel includes a fully functional telegraph that demonstrates how Morse Code was sent and received. The creation of this project gave me an opportunity to try out different fabrication methods and explore a more scientific approach to design. A lot of research and troubleshooting went into the construction of the moving and electrical componentsClick the PDF links to see more details about this project
