Dead End

Animation
2021
In my work, I draw inspiration from two readings, "In Defence of the Poor Image" and "Other Intelligences," to explore the deceptive nature of AI-generated imagery. Using Photoshop and After Effects, I created an abstract loop animation that questions the reliability of images in news and the potential for AI to mislead people's thinking. As we continue to feed AI technology, it becomes increasingly intelligent and human-like. However, we cannot always rely on this technology, as it has the power to watch, learn, and recommend information. This raises the question: can we be 100% certain that the images we see are trustworthy? Can AI create a story that misleads us? My work aims to highlight the unknown answers to these questions. The title of my work, "Dead End," reflects the idea that answers generated by AI technology may not be relevant or provide real solutions to the questions we ask. As we continue to feed AI technology, it becomes increasingly intelligent and capable of watching, learning, and recommending information. Therefore, it is essential that we remain critical and aware of the information we consume.
