“Fairy Garden" is a 3D animated short film that aims to evoke a sense of tension and unease in the audience through its use of symbolism and eerie tones. The plot centers around a fairy who collects human skulls. In this short film the absence of a traditional narrative structure allows for individual interpretation. The project draws inspiration from the style of cinematic lighting to create a visually striking and dramatic look, and was created using Maya, Blender, Adobe Premiere Pro, and 3D Substance Painter. The animation encourages viewers to appreciate the quietness of their surroundings, while also warning against the consequences of disrupting the fairy's domain.”
Ege Ersoy is an artist, 3D modeler and animator. Her practice focuses on low poly modeling and creating dystopian based media, sculptures, or animations. She frequently incorporates familiar, cute elements into animations and subvert them by placing them in a dystopian setting. By creating this contrast, she creates tension and suspense in the viewer, while also encouraging them to reflect on the underlying themes and messages in the work. Ege Ersoy is currently working towards graduating with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts at OCAD University.
