Exploring a culture intertwined with Soviet influence, the work touches upon both national and international perceptions of the world within a Soviet frame. The stamps reference my father’s own collection from his youth in Ukraine, featuring a contrast between nature-based themes and industrial propaganda. The inclusion of several Canadian stamps intertwines Canadian and Ukrainian landscapes as a visualization of diaspora.
