Sephora - Secondary Packaging Service Design
Industrial Design
2024
This project reimagines Sephora’s secondary packaging by introducing two service-based solutions that balance sustainability with personalization. While Sephora’s current approach focuses on cost-efficiency, it often overlooks the environmental impact and the quality of the customer’s unboxing experience.Motivated by the growing need for eco-conscious practices in e-commerce and the rising expectations around brand experience, we set out to explore how packaging could do more than just protect products. Through user research and industry analysis, we identified an opportunity to design packaging services that reduce waste while elevating customer satisfaction.By aligning environmental responsibility with user-centered design, this project offers a more thoughtful packaging system that enhances the post-purchase experience, builds brand loyalty, and contributes to more sustainable retail practices.
“This project redefines packaging as a service, where sustainability and user experience are no longer at odds, but work together to deliver impact beyond the box.”
