In 'Ecosystems Encaustic Tapestry' (2025), I re-contextualize the deer imagery from the film 'Leave the World Behind' alongside my personal experience of a climate-induced surge in local white-tail deer. Using layered photo-encaustic techniques with beeswax, shellac, and oil sticks, I explore the connection between ecological disruption, trauma, and resilience. Antlers and branching forms mirror both forest ecosystems and neural pathways, reflecting the impact of environmental crisis on both mind/body and planet.
