My inspiration is the psychological violence and pain that I have endured. I started art when I was going through a really rough time as a woman. So I believe that expressing my state of mind or observing my mind is the way to cure myself. This piece attempts to reflect the sadness, pain, and wounds of women in a softer and more feminine manner.

“My inspiration is the psychological violence and pain that I have endured. I started art when I was going through a really rough time as a woman. So I believe that expressing my state of mind or observing my mind is the way to cure myself. This piece attempts to reflect the sadness, pain, and wounds of women in a softer and more feminine manner. Most of my artwork that depicts women's troubles usually focuses on hard materials such as nails, which contrasts this work with my use of wax. This creation was a direct reflection of my state of mind and emotions, which pushed me to express my tribulations and subsequent transformation, just like many other women out there. Each fragment, each nail felt as though they were fragments of my life. Not only the pain and sadness of a woman that I want to express, but I want to express some sort of order and beauty in the construction from the destruction, from the damage and violation to restructuring. Something gets destroyed but when I put the pieces back together it becomes completely different. For this artwork, I used nails, because it has a coldness of metal and requires violence which gets reorganized and transformed by getting covered with wax. Taking the violence, rearranging it, and creating a new form so that it represents me anew. This is the Rebuilding the Destruction series No.3. The reason I keep creating this series is to keep sharing and documenting the different aspects of my inner self and state of mind.
