'Calm Place II', from my 'Taming Grief' series, investigates the intersection of emotional processing and environmental systems. Using encaustic methods with photographic imagery, beeswax, alcohol ink, and pigmented shellac, I reference the neurobiological patterns of the autonomic nervous system and the cyclical dynamics of ecological change. The series work visualizes how grief and resilience emerge through disruption, reflecting the complexity of emotional and environmental adaptation.

“Drawing on materiality and metaphor, this artwork situates nature as both a site of psychological grounding and environmental instability, inviting viewers into a multi-sensory experience that is simultaneously restorative and disruptive.”
