Hi, I’m Lora, an illustrator and graphic designer based in Toronto. Throughout my time at OCAD, I found a way to merge my love for illustration and my interest for graphic design. When working on design projects, I love to find ways to include both digital and traditional media as a way to merge the artists hand with a digital toolset. A lot of my personal work is centred around creating playful characters and atmospheres reminiscent virtual worlds such as Tamagotchi, Neopets, Webkinz, and more. I aim to evoke a positive atmosphere through my colorful, light-hearted, and silly character designs and environments. This feeling is also translated in my workspace and the attitude by which I approach design. I enjoy collaborating with other artists and designers in order to see how our styles can merge together to create things we wouldn't ourselves. In my free time, I like to explore working with new mediums and finding ways to use them in my creative practice. My most recent print exploration was done with risograph and my latest textile experiment was to make small, handsewn plush toys using minky plush fabric.
