Roots and Rubble

The bigleaf maple is erosion resilient and can prevent soil erosion caused by wind and water. Its roots have evolved to be extremely strong, capable of holding together cliffs and rocks that were broken from earthquakes. It prevents landslides and allows life to survive on these broken cliffs.
