03 Ss / The Sting of Life

The artwork shows a delicate branch with clusters of green grapes set against a soft pink and white watercolour background. Intertwined with the fruit are two small, detailed graphite portraits: a bearded man’s face appears nestled among the grapes, and a second stylized face, adorned with jewelry, hangs lower on the vine. A tazhib patterned gold and brown border frames the entire composition, with a thin inner pink border surrounding the main image. The piece juxtaposes the natural and the human, blending botanical illustration with traditional portraiture.
