“Aydin uses playful colours with painterly brushstrokes, embracing textures and surrealist ideals. His work doesn't shy away from bold colours and juxtaposing ideas; he frequently uses mixed media to explore nature and botanical motifs.”

Illustrator and mixed media artist with a focus on gouache, acrylic and printmaking. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Design in Illustration at Ontario College of Art and Design University, where he has been honing his design skills and developing new concepts. His thesis at OCAD explores lacking sexual education of adolescents through a lens of botanicals to lighten the conversation and create a discussion around gaps in the education system. Aydin has also been exploring digital media and graphic design through short-term marketing gigs and brand design projects. His artwork frequently explores emotions and relationships through a surrealist lens with botanical motifs and mark-making. He uses a varied colour palette based on the desired mood of the piece, but sticks closely to deep blues and contrasting hues. His work has very strong compositions and is typically very dynamic leading to a lot of movement in each piece. The majority of his work is quite graphic, with bold brushstrokes and large areas of colour containing playful imagery, leading to many of his works leaning editorial.Aydin is hoping to pursue design work, such as murals or marketing to continue to expand his brand and identity further. His ideal vision is to capture client and conceptual emotions into visual pieces that people can easily relate to without being overtly literal.
