“I apply design to the educational system by creating learning experiences that make abstract ideas more accessible, engaging, and meaningful for students. My work focuses on turning math into a hands-on, visual, and interactive process, so learners can build understanding through making, exploring, and problem-solving rather than relying only on traditional instruction.Through my project, Marie the Marker, I use industrial design thinking to support math learning in a way that reflects how students actually think and learn. By combining prototyping, written instructions, and spatial reasoning, I aim to create tools that help students strengthen their confidence in geometry and mathematics while also introducing them to the creative process of design.At the core of my practice is the belief that education should be adaptable to different learning needs. I see design as a way to improve how knowledge is communicated, helping students connect classroom content to the real world and discover new ways of learning through making.”
