Maya is a multidisciplinary artist, from London Ontario, currently living in Toronto. She is a fourth year Experimental Animation student at OCAD University, set to graduate in June 2026. Prior to studying at OCAD, Maya studied studio arts in the Bealart program at H.B. Beal Secondary School, specializing in painting and moving image. She is a self proclaimed jack of all trades, with a particular interest in fabrication.At her time at OCAD U, Maya has expanded her sculpting/fabrication skills as well as enjoyed a range of stop motion techniques. Tactility and a deep understanding of medium often help drive her concepts. She has also worked on developing her drawing and storytelling skills in order to work on a range of storyboards as well as 2D character animation. Maya has been the lead story artist and director for two experimental animated shorts produced at OCAD U in the past year.
