Drawing and Painting
“What does it mean to hold, and be held in return? I am inviting you to enter vignettes of my found family and our practice of care. Reaching beyond myself to cherish them, the spaces we occupy, and the day-to-day occurrences along the way. In these paintings, there is an intimacy in the art of seeing. Light plays and illuminates the holding and the space between action. Light and colour continually instigate my desire to capture and commemorate subjects, no matter how seemingly mundane they might appear.”

Katrina, or Kat, Langstroth (b. 2003) is a Toronto-based artist with a focus on oil painting and realism. Curiosity and a drive to learn are the foundations of their practice. For them, painting denotes an archive and an urge to document what, who, or when they find significant.
