Against the Machine: The Return to nature

“The machine cannot follow me here. The universal patterns of life reassert themselves, the tree branches that flow into our own veins, older than any artificial system built to contain them. Before civilisation tamed it, before culture named it, before the machine corrected it, there was simply this. Nietzsche saw modern life as a severing; the human animal over-domesticated, having forgotten its own vitality, its instinct, its truest nature. To return here is not to escape reality but to remember what reality was before we replaced it.”
