Lenin, the Icon

““High up in the gallery a woman uttered a low, wailing cry that was followed by a burst of sobs.” (L) New York Times 1924.Lenin is probably the most infamous figure of communism, if Marx is the all powerful God, then Lenin is the Messiah, meant to bring his vision to life. He was the one to start the communist revolution in Russia and founded the Soviet Union. He was seen as the all powerful bringer of change, a figure that would bring its people into a new age of progress. He died of a stroke at age 53 (W). His body was then put in a glass box in the red square of Moscow; he is still on display to this day. After his death Lenin then became the fatherly figure of communism, one that judges you from above as if we should always aspire to his achievements.”
