The central thesis of this project is to conduct an examination of how the last 20 years of internet culture interacted with popular culture in music, entertainment and fashion to understand Gen-Z’s aesthetic sensibilties and how it interacts with contemporary marketing strategies. This book is a documentation of all research and synthesis, as well as idea and material exploration done for the making of my 2026 installation piece ‘+503+’ at OCAD University’s GradEx 111. The project combines knowledge in design and art history with that of internet trends and youth culture. It is also a physical demonstration of the thesis through cross disciplinary collaboration of graphic design, material production and medium exploration.
