Blue Imagination

A laneway house located in downtown Toronto for an emerging filmmaker and photographer who was born in Grace Bay.

“The overall design follows a modern minimalist style with a hint of Mediterranean character as requested by the client. The main challenges were bringing light into a long narrow building and balancing work, social life, and private needs within a very compact space.The ground floor is designed into an open public area. Upstairs, one side becomes a photography studio, and at the far end of the corridor sits the bedroom with a hidden door for maximum privacy.A small home theater is integrated into the spiral staircase. This placement elevates the function without adding walls, preserving natural light and clearly distinguishing the space from surrounding areas.This was one of my first interior design projects at OCAD. It gave me the enthusiasm and determination to keep growing in this field.”
