Breaking Point

This piece explores tension through close cropping and expressive color. The fragmented focus on the hand and chest emphasizes gesture. Distorted purples and reds create intensity, while texture rejects idealization to convey lived experience.

“This work explores the body as a site of vulnerability and pressure. Fragmentation and intense color, reject idealization, focussing on emotion and lived experience. Gesture, especially the hand, carries tension, while distortion creates an unsettled presence. I use these choices to question how the body is seen and represented.”
