Zen Hotel
Interior Design
2025
Located at 460 King Street West in downtown Toronto, this hotel is positioned within a dense and energetic urban environment defined by constant movement, noise, and activity. In response to this setting and influenced by the cultural presence of nearby Chinatown Toronto, the project is designed as a calm and inward-focused retreat rooted in Zen principles and Asian design traditions. The hotel offers a peaceful escape where guests can step away from the pace of the city and experience a quieter, more grounded atmosphere. Natural materials, soft lighting, biophilic elements, and a minimalist approach work together to create a space that encourages relaxation, balance, and reflection. Every aspect of the design is carefully considered to reduce visual and sensory noise while strengthening a connection to nature.Through simplicity and intentional design, the hotel provides a sense of comfort and stillness within the busy context of downtown Toronto.
“Zen hotel is a peaceful escape inspired by Zen design. It offers a quiet, natural space where guests can relax, slow down, and feel at ease. Using natural materials, soft lighting, biophilic design, and minimalism, the hotel creates a calm atmosphere that encourages rest and reflection in the midst of the busy city life. Every part of the space is designed to bring comfort, balance, and a sense of connection to nature.”
