Died and Went to Hell

Animation
2026
When three friends get stuck in the middle of no where forced to push their jeep to the nearest gas station, will their biggest enemy be the undead or the living?CW: flashing images, jump scares, loud noises, violence, alcohol, smoking

“This animation is set in the zombie apocalypse, and the main characters, Nikko, Yumeka, and Luka are being attacked by zombies while trying to get gas for their car so they can get away but need to face conflict with other humans to do it. The main focal point of conflict is between the two groups of humans rather than the zombies. In traditional zombie media the zombies are always the primary conflict and plot point. However, in my film they are a secondary conflict to reflect our current political climate. There are many global issues that plague our society that are blatantly ignored or dismissed by people in power. This influences news stations and reporters to report on less important issues which can lead to the public’s focus being strayed away from the true cause of their misfortunes.I chose to pursue making this particular project because while the art work is more cartoony and silly, the feeling of overlooking serious issues is still prominent in this work. It also looks at misogyny and the way women are treated in vulnerable or compromising situations. The impact of violence against any or anything stands out in comparison to mundane life. Hence why the horror flashes are put into this film to compliment that impact of violence. They’re meant to leave the viewer shocked to begin with but slowly turning into a sense of dread and anxiety. With this in mind, I still wanted this project to be a cartoony film and have a happy ending for the main cast so there was a satisfying ending for the viewer.”
