Terror Transit Company - Horror Game
Installation
Terror Transit Company is a hyper-realistic, first-person, 3D horror game set inside a Toronto Line 2 subway car, where players take on the role of a passenger who must keep their head on a swivel to avoid being attacked by threatening riders.
“This game was born from a single commute. My train sat delayed at a station with noexplanation until a large belligerent drunk man entered the car screaming, a can still in his hand, and sat directly in front of me. The doors closed the moment he entered. He directed threats atme and other passengers for ignoring him, and I was caught between two impossible choices:respond and risk escalating him, or stay silent and watch his anger grow. Two or three minutesuntil the next stop, but it felt like an eternity. That feeling became Terror Transit Company. The TTC is falling apart. It feels more dangerous each and every day, more filthy each and everyday, a hellscape that the middle and lower class cannot avoid. Terror Transit Company was builtto spark the feeling of dread one feels when entering the TTC: the urge to escape when there isno possible exit, and the disgust of the environment we find ourselves sitting within.Driving is not an option for most people in the GTA, the TTC is their only option. If that commuteis dangerous, filthy, and frightening, taking up 1-2 hours of their day roughly 5 times a week, thatis 5-10 hours of those feelings every single week. There is no real conversation about what thatis costing Torontonians, and I think it's more than $3.30.”
