02- Passage

"Passage" is part of "Breakthrough", an expanding series of sculptures and installations, inspired by small plants that resist the pressure of asphalt, pushing through it and fracturing its surface as they grow. Often, we do not notice them. They exist quietly, in the margins of our attention, pushing upward in silence. Yet their presence carries a profound message: a form of tireless becoming, a persistence that does not ask to be seen in order to exist. This image has become the central metaphor of the work: a quiet act of defiance, fragile yet unyielding, forming the emotional and conceptual core of the collection. These plants grow through pressure and move toward light even when the light is not yet visible.Hard, angular triangular structures embody the repetitive pressures and rigid systems that shape human experience. They reflect the cyclical nature of hardship: fears, barriers, dangers, expectations, constraints, and imposed burdens that return again and again. In contrast, the curved cylindrical forms suggest growth, continuity, and the expanding pathways of resilience. Their forward movement mirrors the instinctive reach of living beings toward light, even in conditions of constraint. The dialogue between these forms; sharp versus curved, static versus emerging, constructs the visual language of the collection. Grey becomes an atmosphere of weight and difficulty, while pink and green emerge as a luminous interruption: tender yet insistent, refusing disappearance. Through this tension, the work understands resilience not as a moment of triumph, but as an ongoing condition; a continuous act of becoming. The seven small forms rising from the primary forms symbolize hope that multiplies as it ascends. The number seven draws from Persian cultural symbolism, representing renewal, creation, and spiritual strength.I dedicate Breakthrough to people across the world whose lives are shaped by difficulty, barriers, and unseen struggles. To those who are often overlooked yet continue to move forward. To those who are hurt, exhausted, and still choose not to give up. This collection is for those who choose not to surrender hope in the face of difficulty, but to move through pressure rather than around it; to believe in light even when it is not yet visible. It is for those who carry hope not as something given, but as something built, again and again, from within darkness. It reflects their tireless movement, and a reminder that even the smallest act of continuing is a form of resistance.
