Haft Seen or Haft sin is an arrangement of seven symbols that is set for Perians new years, whose names start with the letter "S", "س", the 15th letter in the Persian alphabet; "haft" is Persian for "seven."Before the beginning of the new year, Iranian people start to prepare the necessary items, and once their Haft-Sin is set, it will remain in their houses until the last day of the new year’s holidays, which lasts 13 days. Nowruz literally means “New Day” and is the start of the Iranian new year, celebrated on the very first day of spring, around 21 March. (“Haft-Sin: The 7 ‘S’ of Iranian New Year.” SURFIRAN, Surfiran, https://surfiran.com/mag/all-about-haft-sin-the-7-s-of-iranian-new-year/. Accessed 30 Apr. 2026.)
“This is a love letter to those who carry Nowruz with them, wherever they are. The Haft-Seen, once a shared table, becomes a small, portable collection. Each card holds memory, meaning, and belonging. Through reimagined elements like sabzeh, senjed, and seer, it invites you to rebuild the ritual in your own way. For those in diaspora, especially students, it’s a gentle reminder that tradition isn’t lost, it travels with you, shaped by your hands, still rooted in who you are.”
